Mission
The Clackamas County Peace Officers’ Benevolent Foundation has received it’s final determination as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, tax identification number 20-5994627. Donations are fully deductible. Quite often when there is an traumatic incident involving a member of the Clackamas County Peace Officers’ Association, a need arises to raise funds to augment medical expenses, lost wages, legal expenses, benefit packages for family, etc. Each time this happens, a new non-profit is started with all of the details that are needed to raise those funds. One of the goals of the CCPO Benevolent Foundation is to have the tools and funds in place to begin providing assistance, along with the expertise to raise the funds needed to meet the emergency. The CCPO Benevolent Foundation also looks to help people in the communities of Clackamas County, with a focus on children. We believe that by helping children to grow up safe and strong and with a respect for law enforcement, we are making the streets safer for future generations of police officers. The Foundation also will provide assistance to victims of crime in selected situations. The CCPO Benevolent Foundation was incorporated in Oregon on September 26, 2006 and the Board of Directors meet quarterly. The first Board Meeting was held on May 2, 2007, with By-Laws adopted and Officers elected.
